The Green Dragon Inn is an exceptional example of expert craftsmanship. All tours will spend some time at the famous Green Dragon Inn as a part of the experience. The interior of the Inn has been fully reconstructed to appear as it did in the films to give you the opportunity to enjoy the pub in all its splendour as a part of your experience at Hobbiton Movie Set. Indulge in a complimentary beverage from our Hobbit™ Southfarthing™ range, which encompasses two traditional ales, an apple cider or non-alcoholic ginger beer, all handcrafted and exclusive to Hobbiton™ Movie Set. We also have a delicious range of traditional fayre available for purchase. Whether you choose to enjoy these in a comfortable armchair by the roaring fire, or in the Beer Garden, overlooking the enchanting village, the Green Dragon Inn promises to be a trip to the pub you will never forget!)

Enjoy a buffet lunch inside the festive interiors of The Party Marquee
Follow the instructions of your guide as you make your way to the Party Marquee. You will be seated at a banquet table with others from your tour departure group and the meal is self-service from the buffet.

Drop Off to Auckland CBD
The return trip will follow the amazing Waikato river and Taupiri Maori burial ground. Drop off to your accommodation in Auckland CBD.

Tours begin with a bus ride to the set so please ensure that your costume is appropriate and functional for this portion of your journey.
- The outdoor walking tour through winding paths is part of the Hobbiton movie set. This is why we advise you to check the weather prediction before your visit and wear comfortable walking shoes for our tour. Metservice provides 10-day weather forecast data for the Matamata region.
- Since the sun can get very hot during the summer, we advise wearing a hat and sunscreen in addition to drinking plenty of water. Because the paths might get muddy in the autumn, winter and spring, it's advisable to be ready with an outer layer that can withstand rain and shoes that are enclosed. You can use our wide umbrellas for the length of your tour in the event of rain.
- Additionally, as our Movie Set is the ideal location for taking amazing vacation images, we advise visitors to bring a camera or a phone with camera functionality. Tripods and drones are not allowed.
